Abstract :
This paper presents numerical results concerning wavelength switching of multisection DBR lasers. The static tuning characteristics and the dynamic behavior of the switching between different longitudinal modes is investigated. The influence of hysteresis in the frequency versus grating current characteristics on the forward and backward switching time is clearly shown. The possibility of structures that can operate as frequency bistable devices is explored
