Abstract
To achieve the strict requirements for rapidness of data acquisition and the precision of data transmission during the on-line monitoring system of the condition of circuit breaker, a design approach for real-time data acquisition and remote transmission system base on field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and ARM technology is presented. The approach adopts an overall structure of FPGA + ARM + ICC (industrial control compute) and the system has all the functions of sampling, measurement and communication. It can not only monitor on-line temperature, insulation, electric and mechanical parameters of high voltage circuit breaker (HVCB), but communicate with other data acquisition devices and ICC by CAN field bus. The presented device is excellent in the ability of real-timing and high reliability. The accuracy and reliability of the system has been proved through an analysis of the test results and on-the-spot installation and operation.
