Abstract
According to the needs of modern wireless communication systems, Point to Point PtP Radio equipment have to support complex modulation formats at high data rates using carriers in the millimetre-wave frequency range. As a result, frequency synthesizers are required to perform broadband tuning, low phase noise and high frequency stability (versus thermal and mechanical shocks). Trying to meet the above mentioned goals, a 38 GHz synthesizer able to support a 2xSTMl (2×155 Mbps) in cross polar configuration was studied and developed. Design details and interesting test results are reported in the summary paragraph.
