Abstract :
This paper describes the development of a reflectarray using a novel elementary cell based on the combination of a patch antenna and a coplanar band-stop filter integrated in the ground plane. Phase distribution is achieved by modifying filter reflection phase in filter bandwidth and frequency filtering permits to reduce out-of-band reflectivity. This novel approach has been applied using a classic band reject filter design. The design methodology is described and frequency responses of 6-by-6 element reflectarray for operation at 20 GHz on a quartz substrate are presented.
