Abstract :
This paper presents an electronic ballast with half-bridge resonant inverter which can drive electrodeless fluorescent lamps at 60 kHz. Fundamental theory and equations that can control the lamp at 60 kHz are derived. A 150W electrodeless fluorescent lamp ballast was implemented to show the practicability of the theory. Experimental results proved that the electrodeless lamps can be operated at 60 kHz. The efficiency of the proposed electronic ballast is 95%.
