Abstract :
Capability of SAR images producing with help of noise waveform (NW) has been shown experimentally for both inverse SAR and stripmap mode SAR. Application of NW for SAR imaging may bring certain advantages into SAR design, such as simplicity of sounding waveform forming, less sidelobe level in range compression, high interference immunity, possibility of using of long pulses approaching the 0.5 duty cycle regime. In the paper, the, issue of computer simulation of SAR imaging using both NW and linear frequency-modulated (LFM) waveform is considered. The model for NW radar returns reflected by a scattering surface is elaborated. It is shown that NW-SAR has negligible sidelobes even before application of weighting procedure. Besides, it is shown that NW-SAR has excellent resistance capability against monochromatic interference
