Abstract :
An increase in the teletraffic capacity of a matured CMTS network can be attained with the introduction of microcells. Two approaches for the introduction of microcells into a mature CMTS network based on reallocation of available channels are evaluated for their capacity improvement without degrading service quality. The results of the evaluation are discussed
