A model of fault messages for maintenance of UNI/NNI resources in HANbit ACE64 ATM switching system

This paper describes the point of view of the design and implementation for the functions of the management of fault messages for UNI/NNI resources in the HANbit ACE64 ATM switching system. There are many different kinds of UNI/NNI resources to support the integrated telecommunication services in HANbit ACE64 ATM switching system. The functions of the management of fault messages report instantly or periodically that the fault has occurred to operators with accuracy. These reports give a help to guarantee the quality of services contracted with users and for service providers to make the most of the idle resources efficiently. This paper observes the UNI/NNI resources in HANbit ACE64 ATM switching system and illustrates the kinds of fault messages for the resources, the procedural construction of the message display and the principles of the message management function. The functions of fault message management are very closely related to the maintenance functions, therefore it is designed and implemented based on the recommendation 1.610 of ITU-T.
