Abstract
The performance of the integrated voice and data radio access system is improved by using the capture effect. To apply the capture effect, two methods are proposed, one is to increase power for voice-restart-packets and the other is to increase the power of data packets at random. The performance is analyzed by computer simulation with voice signals gathered from real telephone conversations. The delay vs. throughput performance is significantly improved with both the two methods
