Abstract :
We report on the fabrication and optical properties of etched Ge33As12Se55 chalcogenide planar waveguides. These show optical losses as low as 0.27 dB/cm at 1550 nm, the lowest ever reported, and are therefore of significant interest for planar non-linear optics.
