Abstract
Patent data are disclosed as a means for assessing collaborative activities and their dynamics. A framework for measurement is provided. Derived measures cover descriptive statistics, measures of collaborative strategy, positioning of partners and collaboration outcomes. They form the basis for an application in the international automotive industry
