Abstract
In radical innovation (RI), internal knowledge is leveraged by the use of inter-firm alliances (IFAs). The process of finding partners and the use of multiple alliances in RI reflects the fluidity and complexity of knowledge search and demonstrates its pertinent knowledge distribution. RI IFAs entail knowledge acquisition, verification, demonstration, distribution, contingency and creation. LFA knowledge management practices in RI must deal with the uncertainties of knowledge search, varied and multiple knowledge objectives and the contingencies of the interplay between internal and external knowledge dynamics
