Abstract :
The CuO2 interlayer coupling and anisotropic properties in Bi2Sr2Ca1-xGdxCu2 O8+δ single crystals were studied systematically. It was found that there are two transitions; one corresponds to the superconducting transition in CuO2 planes, and the other is related to the breakdown superconductivity in the “blocking” layers between CuO2 layers. The c-axis resistivity pc (T) and the anisotropy ρc(T)/ρab(T) increase rapidly with increasing Gd concentration
