Abstract
Standards that exist for the design of machine guarding systems as well as the standards for installation of safety devices on potentially hazardous machinery are reviewed. ANSI standards on safety requirements for construction, care and operation of machine tools, occupational safety and health standards, and British standards are detailed.<>
