Title :
Advanced methods of motor testing
Abstract :
The increasing use of statistical process control requires new tasks of quality assurance. 100% final testing and diagnosis of the motors with regard to all electrical, mechanical and vibro-acoustic characteristics is mandatory for real process control to be applied. To achieve this task an intelligent motor test system is required. Essential parts of this system consist of the following: parameter identification (PI); vibro-acoustic diagnosis (VAD); and technical fault diagnosis (TFD) by means of pattern recognition. The parameter identification provides physical parameters of the equipment under test without difficult and time-consuming load couplings. The vibro-acoustic diagnosis obtains important features of the noise characteristic of the motor. Both systems together provide the basis for a technical fault diagnosis
