  • Abstract
The protocol, apparatus, and results of high power testing recently performed on a silicone transformer fluid to gain the "Less Flammable per NEC 450-23" classification from Underwriters Laboratories are described. Also covered are the "use restrictions" associated with the listing, and the implications for both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and transformer specifiers. A review of National Electrical Code requirements and installation guidelines based on alternative product listings is reviewed
