Reliability of regional road network is investigated by simulation in this paper. Considering the task completion of the network in terms of amount and time, two reliability measurements for the regional road network are defined, and a simulation model to evaluate these reliability measurements based on Anylogic is established. This model is applied to a regional road network in Changsha, a big city in the middle south of China. Form the results, the mechanism about how the network reliability is affected by traffic loads is presented and discussed, also, a new possibility of improving the network reliability is suggested.
