  • Abstract
Defeating safety interlocks in control systems can present a significant safety hazard to personnel and equipment. Considerations in the development of a corporate safety system override (SSO) procedure are discussed. The procedure can significantly reduce the likelihood of injuries and equipment damage. Objectives of the SSO procedure are given, and the SSO system design is discussed. Monitoring the SSO procedure is also discussed.<>
