Abstract :
This paper is a brief study of the effect of receiver clock (oscillator) performance on Global Positioning System (GPS) code acquisition. The code acquisition time interval contributes to the length of time between first powering the receiver and entering a usable state where the receiver is providing a position solution. In this study a generic receiver is postulated. The results can be tailored to a specific receiver by applying values for receiver specific parameters such as bandwidths, integration times and number of correlators
