Abstract :
State-of-charge indicators are very necessary when using batteries in critical applications. Primary batteries with aqueous electrolytes are discussed. In the past, various methods have been attempted to indicate the charge remaining in a battery. They include open circuit voltage, voltage/current transients, impedance, density of electrolyte, coulometer, phase angle, etc. The fundamental aspects of the various methods are discussed
