Abstract
A dual band notched ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna using complementary split ring resonators is proposed and investigated. The proposed antenna can reject dual frequency band by etching two complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) in the radiating patch. The dual stopbands of the proposed UWB antenna are 4.9GHz–5.4GHz and 8.3GHz–8.9GHz with a reference level of S11 =−7dB.The center frequency of the first notched band is 5.2GHz at which the wireless LAN service is assigned. The proposed antenna operates from3.1GHz to 12GHz for voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) less than 2, except the two frequency notched bands of 4.9GHz–5.4GHz and 8.3GHz–8.9GHz.
