Abstract :
Wideband comparative VHF (70 MHz) measurements were conducted over a one kilometre link using two wide band channel sounders. Both sounders used the same two collocated crossed loop antennas. One of the sounders which was developed at Rennes University employs a pseudo-random binary sequence (PRBS) sequence with the sliding time cross correlator following the Cox (1972) principle. The second sounder was conceived at UMIST and uses the chirp technique with a heterodyne detector.
