Abstract :
Today´s technology in microwave antennas demands the use of radomes for the protection of delicate and sensitive radiating elements. However, covering a high performance antenna with a radome imposes degradation of its performance. In large space-frame radomes the main source of degradation is the coherent scattering from the joints or struts constituting the space-frame. These struts may be conducting or dielectric. In this paper dielectric struts have been considered. The novel aspect of this research task is the inclusion of the geometry struts+panel as a whole as well as the prediction of the scattering performance from a combination of two struts.
