Abstract :
This paper describes the development of a wideband radiating element suitable for use in a planar array. The design is a more compact form of the fan dipole reported by Bailey (1984). An experimental array of such dipoles was constructed in order to evaluate the mutual coupling between the elements and the embedded radiation patterns. An estimate of the active match is presented.
