Abstract :
In this paper, the problem of small power tapping from HVDC transmission systems is presented, and a practical solution, based on the solid state devices currently available in the market, is proposed. The proposed scheme, is then digitally simulated with the aid of the EMTDC/PSCAD software package. Simulation results prove the practicality of the proposed scheme. The performance of the control systems, however, needs to be improved
