Abstract :
Variations on the half-open cylindrical Fresnel zone plate (CFZP) antenna have been studied in this paper. Starting from the Ji and Fujita´s (1996) CFZP antenna model with about 5 dB gain we designed antennas with much higher gain: up to 8.5 dB for the same size quarter-wave antenna, and up to 11 dB for the same height, but 3 times larger in diameter, quarter-wave antenna. Other CFZPs, namely, strip-type and cross-type were sketched, and a non-symmetrical CFZP antenna was proposed and studied briefly.
