  • Abstract
The surface integral equation (SIE) method is widely used for solution of boundary problems in electromagnetics. The fields in this method are expressed using the Treftz´s basis for the Maxwell equations. There is a problem for applications of the 2D SIE for structures with complicated forms as its kernels have nonintegrable singularity. The goal of this paper is the calculation of microstrip patch antenna parameters introducing a new technique which reduces the singularity of the SIE. This technique is based upon three points. The first is the representation of surface current over some new surface potentials. The second is the application of the vector integral theorems for transforming the differential operators from kernels to the introduced potentials. And the third is the application of the inverse operator-function. It allows one to reduce the kernel singularity from nonintegrable to weaker ones. As a result, one can get 2D Cauchy-singular, logarithmic singular, or regular kernels. This approach also allows to improve the convergence of matrix elements and to apply the piece-wise-constant basic functions for field representation.
