Abstract :
In this paper, a high-speed 14-bit D/A converter based on. Binary weighted current sources is presented. A full-scale output current of 10-20 mA allows 50Ω loads to be driven directly. Matching of small MOSFETs at the low LSB current level allows-only 5-bits accuracy. However, 14-bit accuracy is achieved by the novel architecture which uses digitally-controlled trimmable current sources and one of two self-calibration schemes to automatically adjust the current sources after power-up or when triggered by an external signal
