Abstract :
Focusing on protocols and services defined within the OSI framework, some new point-to-multipoint ARQ (automatic repeat request) protocols are introduced. This is followed by critical evaluation of current addressing schemes in the light of specific multicast requirements. A simple multicast routing strategy suitable for different types of networks, including, particularly, meshed store-and-forward networks, is presented
