Abstract
This paper describes the steps Bharti Cellular Limited went through in implementing a GSM cellular network in Delhi. The network is not only the first in Delhi, but also one of the first to start operations in India. The typical problems BCL experienced in engineering this network are likely to be repeated in other parts of the country where such networks are planned to be installed in the near future. Primarily the discussions follow the steps of the design, installation, commissioning, testing and operation & maintenance of the network
