Abstract :
Starting from a classification of typical errors occurring in data processing and data communication, the authors introduce an error model and demonstrate its use for combined performance/reliability modeling. The approach is based on the application of BCMP-type queuing networks. Solution techniques for the mathematical analysis of the models are derived and illustrated by way of example
