Abstract :
Skeletonization is the process that generates the “compact” representations of 3D objects. And thinning is a frequently used method for producing skeletons in 3D spaces. This paper presents an effective sequential thinning algorithm that directly produces medial curves from 3D binary objects. The algorithm proposed preserves topology and implements easily.
