Abstract
A novel environment for the simulation of analog circuits and devices, realized by means of an improved version of the Spice3 circuit simulator and an optimization interface, is presented. This system allows the user to incrementally and dynamically write the programming code that describes new electrical devices or that controls the behavior of the circuit to be analyzed. The programming code is interpreted and is directly accessible to the user. Two examples of these features are presented. The former deals with a VCCS that has the same DC characteristic as a power MoSFET. The latter shows a chopper circuit where in case of dangerous overload, the alarm signals sent to the fast breaker and the SCR gate signals are triggered by a user developed procedure
