Abstract
The earthquake of 1989 Oct.17 was preceded for over two weeks by ULF magnetic noise anomalies with a very high peak about three hours before the event. The model in this paper, using parameter values based almost totally on data from local seismology and geological resistivity structure, predicts the anomalies to relatively high accuracies over three orders of magnitude of ULF
