Abstract :
The contribution deals with the different aspects of testing for instance with sources of electromagnetic fields and their amplitude dependence, external and internal resonances, conversion of electromagnetic fields into currents and voltages on cables and surfaces, characteristic impedances of antennas and transmission lines, coupling of test signals onto cables, decoupling of auxiliary devices, necessary to operate the EUT, and the influence of the cable arrangement within radiation tests. Both methods are defined within the international standards IEC 801-3 (radiated) and IEC 801-6 (conducted). The paper concludes with a status report of these standards
