Abstract :
This paper describes a theoretical and experimental approach of the coupling of the electromagnetic field radiated by a lightning discharge to overhead telecommunication cables. These behave as multiwire shielded lines and the intrinsic shielding parameters such as the transfer impedances are first deduced from measurements. Then, by calculation of the field illuminating the cable, the disturbing voltages are determined and compared with values obtained on an experimental site
