Abstract :
A new class of intrinsically conducting polymers, starting from dehydrochlorinated PVC, can be provided without instability in air. Consequently, the authors propose a stable polyacetylene-like material, with high electrical conductivity, for electromagnetic interference and radio-frequency interference shielding. The first measurements of the elementary electromagnetic parameters (∈* and μ*) have proved that they are especially effective to shield an electric field, with an attenation higher than 40 dB in the range of 30 MHz-3 GHz. Other applications may be available especially in the field of absorbent materials
