Abstract :
Summary form only given. The shaping and control of ultrashort laser pulses is of growing interest and its use has been demonstrated in a wide variety of optical applications, including quantum control, high speed communications, and material characterization. Our interest is to create amplified shaped pulses in the visible regime. Pulse-shaping techniques have matured over the past few years. However the power efficiency of direct shaping of an amplified ultrashort source are typically quite low. Hence, it is desirable to examine methods to compensate for such losses.
