Abstract :
As a cleanness and harmless renewable source, the use of wind power growing very fast. One of the challenges faced by wind power is the variation in power output caused by fluctuation in wind velocity, so the prediction of wind power is important. This article proposes wireless sensor networks (WSN) for the collection and communication of the correlative real-time data in wind power prediction. In the paper, the feasibility of applying WSN in wind power prediction is discussed, the architecture, routing protocol, and the power supply of WSN are designed. Through the use of WSN in the prediction of wind power generation, it is possible to greatly decrease the influence caused by the wind velocity fluctuation.
