Abstract :
A susceptibility test of devices exposed to the electromagnetic environment of the system requires 20 dB safety margins. In order to verify these there are several test methods based on measuring the RF current. flowing through the EED. The involvement of the measuring sensor in the EED´s circuit causes problems of electromagnetic energy penetration through the sensor´s wires and thus the accuracy of the current measurement is degraded. The suggested test method eliminates this problem by replacing the EED with a fuse. If the fuse is not blown during the test, it is understood that the maximum current is less then indicated by the fuse data sheet, and this current is used in evaluation of the safety margins
