As a precondition for accurate equipment failure positioning, a battlefield damage assessment performs an important role in quick fault correcting and efficient fighting ability recovering. This paper, with the missile loading vehicle hydraulic system of a certain type as an example, introduces the general analysis process in battlefield damage assessment of items as the basic functional project, the type and influence of the damage, the damage tree and the damage positioning as well. A damage tree model with its approaches is also presented in this paper.
