Abstract :
This paper proposes an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) using ferrite magnets which can smoothly drive at high speeds. The shape and arrangement of ferrite magnets in the rotor are discussed to achieve the high speed drive by FEM, and the motor suitable for the purpose is proposed. Two kinds of motors with ferrite magnets including the motor proposed are shown, and characteristics of them are examined. The motor proposed shows the good performance according to simulation results.
