Abstract :
Cognition researches based on face recognition are related to many areas, such as exploring human cognitive laws, psychology, cognitive neuroscience and machine vision, so face cognition is very important in both theory and practice. Based on research achievements of face cognition, this paper reviews facial expression cognition mainly in micro expression, reasons of cognition differences in facial expression and developing research methods. We present some experimental results and reports of cognition differences in some highly related areas such as age, cultural and the special ethnic groups. The interaction between the identification cognition and the affective cognition are introduced mainly from cross-race effect.
