Abstract
A signal acquisition and management system (SAMS) that provides a unified environment for analog signal acquisition, signal data preprocessing, detection of characteristic waveforms of interest (events), and management of the signal database and the event database is described. The data acquisition takes place on a DEC Micro/PDP-11 computer, while the remaining functions are performed on the DEC VAXstation. While at present the use of SAMS is for bioelectrical signal analysis, it should be suitable for other application areas of multichannel signal processing. Additions being considered to enhance the system include frequency-domain operators and other time-domain operators such as multichannel adaptive filtering.<>
