Abstract :
The design and development of a microprocessor-based apparatus capable of measuring the range of motion associated with the elbow joint is presented. The apparatus not only makes accurate angular measurements possible, but also allows the measurement of the velocity and acceleration associated with the motion. Thus, six different parameters associated with the motion of the elbow joint can be measured in real-time: the angular displacement and its velocity and acceleration with the forearm in flexion-extension, and the rotational displacement and its velocity and acceleration with the forearm in supination-pronation.<>
