Abstract
Wireless multi-hop network is a kind of multi-hop broadband distributed wireless network with high capacity and high transmission rate. One of the major problems of wireless networks is the capacity reduction due to the interference among multiple simultaneous transmissions. In order to effectively minimize the effect of interference, this paper presents a new routing metric called WLQM which considers multiple factors such as hop count, link quality, load of node, interference between links etc and presents its implementation in a protocol called multi-radio QoS routing (MRQSR) protocol. The simulation results show that the routing metric and protocol can significantly improve network throughput.
