Abstract :
NEMO basic support protocol brings suboptimal routing and long handover latency problems while supporting network mobility, especially in nested mobile network. A new route optimization solution called multihoming-LRO for mobile networks under local mobility management framework using multihoming mechanism is proposed. By extending router advertisement message and defining operation of local mobile anchor, optimized routing on forward routing path, reverse routing path and routing inside nested mobile network can be provided. By defining primary local mobility anchor and secondary local mobility anchor, and setting two thresholds of link performance, second link good enough can be established before first link is broken down, or both links can be maintained if needed. Then robustness and self-recovery capability can be improved, fast handover can be achieved easily, and the negative influence caused by topology of nested mobile network which changed dynamically can be alleviated.
