Abstract
This paper proposes a direct method for motion estimation and structure reconstruction of purely rotational object based on optical flow. With using the spatial displacement velocities to replace the rotational velocities, the constancy assumption of rotational motion could be obtained. The rotational velocities and 3D structure can be estimated by a variational model. The experimental results of the synthetic and real image sequences show that the proposed method is high accuracy and good robustness.
