Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report on a method for an efficient energy extraction from a KrF excimer laser which is called "gated gain amplification (GGA)" resulting in 50-W average power of 480-fs pulses at 200-Hz repetition rate. The laser is developed for high-power soft X-ray generation from a Xe cluster target and also for the generation of high-power harmonics in the XUV region.
