Abstract :
Different methods for the calibration of a free space measurement system are presented. The free space system can be used for the measurement of the permittivity or permeability of planar material probes. Due to systematic errors a calibration of the measurement setup is necessary. For a high accuracy it is advantageous to use calibration methods where the calibration standards are all of equal mechanical lengths. The theory and the implementation of the extended LNN and LRR procedures in a free space system are therefore presented
